Easter at Skala Eressos

Enjoy the scents and colors of spring and the traditions of Eressos in this 5 days, 4 nights package.

Holy Thursday, 12 April (Welcome Dinner)

Arrival in Mytilene (airport or harbor) and transfer to Skala Eressos. After you have settled into your hotel wander the narrow streets of Skala Eressos and the beach come across points of interest. Information is available at Sappho Travel or at your hotel. In the evening for those who are interested you can follow the holy service at the Church of Saint Andrew. A welcoming dinner will be held at a local restaurant.

Good Friday, 13 April (Breakfast and Lunch)

Breakfast at your hotel. We recommend a visit to the Church of Saint Andrew so that you may worship at the 'Epitaph' which has been lovingly decorated with aromatic fresh flowers. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy and unwind at the beautiful beach or explore the surrounding countryside. The stunning views and the scenery will take your breath away. After this a buffet of traditional lent food awaits you!

In the afternoon you will be driven to Eressos village where for those interested you can follow the procession of the Epitaph accompanied by the emotional chanting of the choir and the assembly. Alternatively you may explore the windy streets of Eressos, one of the most charming villages on Lesvos. Be back at the main square of Eressos in time to view the poignant meeting of the Epitaphs.

Holy Saturday, 14 April (Breakfast and Dinner)

Breakfast at hotel. Then an early start to visit the unique UNESCO listed Park of the Petrified Forest and a visit to the Museum of Natural History at Sigri. Free time to explore the picturesque fishing village of Sigri. It would be best to try the fresh seafood at one of the local tavernas as tonight's dinner will be served very late. Return back to Skala Eressos to relax and get ready for the "Resurrection" at 10.00pm. This will be followed by the midnight dinner with the tasty magiritsa and other delicacies.

Easter Sunday, 15 April (Breakfast and Lunch)

An Easter breakfast will be served at the hotel with red hard boiled eggs, home made biscuits and bread and other traditional dishes. Lunch will include a barbeque lamb, kokoretsi and plenty of good homemade wine. Free time in the afternoon.

Easter Monday, 16 April (Breakfast)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Mytilene where you will have plenty of time to explore the city before it is time to depart the island at the airport or the harbor.
